China Military Develops New Artillery That Defies the Laws of Physics

TIMEMOMENTS.COM - The China military continues to develop its weaponry systems.

It is now known that they are developing modern artillery that is said to be capable of changing the course of battle.

Chinese researchers are creating electromagnetic artillery capable of firing projectiles at speeds of up to Mach 7.

This artillery is known as the Railgun.

"This experimental weapon has the potential to launch projectiles at Mach 7 speeds without compromising durability or accuracy.

This technological advancement challenges the limitations previously imposed by heat and material constraints," explained Sustainability Times on August 2, 2025.

What China is doing is also being researched by the United States (US).

The US developed a Railgun that was originally intended to be mounted on the USS Zumwalt but was never implemented.

The development of the US Railgun also came to a halt, leaving China to continue advancing.

According to experts, China's Railgun defies the laws of physics.

"This prototype pushes the limits of magnetic acceleration far beyond laboratory boundaries. However, there are significant weaknesses that hinder this weapon. Strong currents can melt certain parts, and sometimes the strength of the magnetic field can tear apart metal structures.

To overcome these obstacles, a team led by Professor Lyu Qingao at the People's Liberation Army Engineering University has envisioned a cannon that can traverse two railguns within a single tube, perpendicular to each other.

Each circuit is autonomous and oriented perpendicular to one another, enabling increased power without electromagnetic fields interfering with each other," he explained.

Additionally, the railgun will be powder-free, making it an artillery cannon that is easy to produce, cost-effective, yet deadly to enemies.

Since the railgun projectile contains no explosives, it relies solely on its conical steel shape and velocity to create an impact effect akin to gunpowder explosions.

"The development of China's electromagnetic cannon could have profound implications for global military strategy.

As countries around the world assess the potential of this technology, questions arise about its impact on international relations and defense policies," explained Sustainability Times.***
