Israel Has an Absolute Policy That Allows the US to Provide F-47 Fighter Jets to Dominate the Middle East

TIMEMOMENTS.COM - Israel may be planning a bold move to dominate the Middle East region.

One of these moves is to obtain the sixth-generation F-47 fighter jets from the US, which are expected to be operational by 2030.

As is known, Israel is the only country in the region operating the F-35 Lightning II fighter jets, with several other regional nations also expressing interest in acquiring them.

Some Gulf countries are also interested in acquiring Turkey's fifth-generation KAAN fighter jet as an alternative to the F-35.

As reported by EurAsian Times on August 1, 2025, Israel has a long-term agreement with the US to receive US-made weapons with superior capabilities compared to those sold to its neighboring countries.

Therefore, the sale of US military weapons in the Middle East must not jeopardize Israel's military superiority.

However, the situation could change if some countries operate the F-35, or at least the KAAN fighter jet, which is also a fifth-generation aircraft.

If that were to happen, it could jeopardize Israel's military capabilities in the region, making the possibility of acquiring the F-47 a reality.

If history is any guide, the United States rarely makes decisions contrary to Israel's interests, which may be one reason why Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have so far been denied the F-35 despite their best efforts.

Israel's influence on U.S. foreign policy and politics was recently demonstrated when the Trump administration entered into a war against Iran and bombed its nuclear facilities, despite opposition to the move within the Republican Party.

If Trump decides to approve the sale of F-35s to other regional allies in the Middle East, he would have to drastically reduce the quality of the aircraft to maintain Israel's military advantage.

However, such a downgrade would likely make the aircraft less appealing to potential buyers, especially since the F-35 is an extremely expensive aircraft with very high lifecycle costs.

The next best option for the U.S. would be to enhance Israel's air power with aircraft more advanced than the F-35.

When awarding the F-47 development contract to Boeing in March 2025, Trump also signaled his intention to sell the sixth-generation fighter jet.

“We want to reduce it by about 10 percent, which might make sense because one day they might not be our allies, right?” The president stated that he is open to exporting the sixth-generation aircraft," he said.

The US has not explicitly stated that it will arm Israel with the F-47.

However, Israel is aware that with a range of 1,800 kilometers and a speed exceeding Mach two, the F-47 will outperform the F-35.

Furthermore, the F-47 will have a wider range of weapons, artificial intelligence, and next-generation stealth technology. The F-47 will also feature advanced stealth capabilities, an improvement over the stealth technology of the Raptor and the F-35.

The F-47 will begin operations between 2025 and 2029, meaning that the US may eventually consider arming the wealthy Gulf states with the F-35, whose deliveries are expected to begin in 2030, while simultaneously arming Israel with the scaled-down F-47.

Additionally, the US may explore the possibility of arming Israel with the Fifth Generation Plus variant of the F-35, which Lockheed Martin is promoting as a bridge solution to the F-47.
